Under the bridge...

I LOVE these!

Project 365: 14

This photo was taken by my husband.  But it's beautiful so I thought I would share.  This is a local mountain and to see the flag you must mountain bike up to the top.  Now, you understand why I didn't take the photo.. you won't catch me on a mountain bike.

Mountain Bike Racer

My little mountain biker.  This was her very first race!  AND she came in third place!  We were so proud!

Look at those eyes! This was at a mountain bike race last weekend.  My guy didn't race but his sister got third place.

I'm a prisoner!

The last few days we have noticed a horrible noise coming from the garage door.  My husband told me last night that we might need a new one.  I said, "Well, it still works right?".  But just to be carefull I made sure I could get in the side door in case it decided to stop working.  Still believing I could manually bring it up once I got in the garage.

As I've mentioned in my previous post.  I have a quite a bit on my "to do" list right now.  I have more important things to worry about... And trust me I worry.  I worry about just about everything.  So I surely wasn't going to start worrying about the darn garage door.

So today as I was joyously bouncing into the garage getting ready for my Yoga class... I tried to open the garage door.  WELL, guess what!  It broke.  The vertical bars that attach to the garage door no longer pull the darn thing up because they snapped right off.  I can't manually get it up and I of course freaked.

1. Forget Yoga
2. I'm trapped...
3. How will I get my kids?
4. No tae kwon do today
5. No grocery store
6. I'm trapped...
7. We didn't want to put more money in this money pit house!
8. I'm trapped...
9. Please don't make me drive my husband's old stinky car!
10. Did I mention that I'm trapped...

Okay, so I called my husband and he is going to come home in a few hours to get my car out (doubt it) or give me his car (this could be a whole other post).  I called the garage door company and they said it will be 3-5 business days before I can get a new garage door.  WHAT?  I surely can't be a "prisoner" for 3-5 business days.  That's next FRIDAY!

Darn garage door!  Why couldn't you had broken after we moved (sorry, future owners)! DARN garage door.  Insert "&@$%@" where you see "darn".

UPDATE:  Got car out of garage!! YEAH!!  MY very STRONG husband lifted it up!  The spring was broken so I couldn't do it.. trust me I'm strong.  Just not that strong!

LOST - Sure am! 5.1 and 5.2

Okay so I didn't post last week after the two hour season premier of LOST.  I think my brain was on overload after the day I had already had (can't share) and then the 8 year hiatus of the show did have me prepared.

There were a bunch of interesting twists in the season premier.  Okay, we figured out there was time traveling going on.. but WHY where the "others" not traveling with everyone else on the island.   Where did the island go?  Is it the people or the island time traveling? Why is Faraday on the island as a "worker"?  Why does Hurley talk to dead people?  Why did Sawyer put his shirt back on?  Why does it mean your going to die if you wear red?  Why is Charlotte nose bleeding?  Why can't they change the past (according the Faraday) but yet he talks to Desmond to change the future.  What?  And I got a sneaking suspicion that Sun is BAD.  And I do mean B-A-D.  She is really upset about Jin.  But we all know Jin isn't really dead.  DUH, Sun!

Anyway, It took me a good week to go over in my head what I saw.  And I was more confused then ever.  For instance, The white haired lady talking to Ben in the end.. she was the one that told Desmond that he was NOT to marry Penny or they would all die.  WHAT?  So was that a flash back or time travel?  It seems like it already happened so it must have been Des doing some more time travel.

Okay, so last night's episode!  Richard is really really old and doesn't look old.  Okay, we got that one a long time ago...  And what is with the atomic bomb?  What is the point?  There must be a point?  However, not sure what it is.  How does this tie in with Desmond and that guy before him wearing those weird suits because of "contamination".  I use to work at a radiation facility.. DUH, should have remembered that in like Season 2, was it? UGH.  Does this explain why the women can't have children?

But the big "AHAA" moment has to be Charles Widmore.  He use to be on the island in 1954.  That explains some things.  Well, maybe a few things.  Probably not that much!  Richard says that the leader is chosen at birth (or something like that) so that would explain why he went to John when he was a kid and showed him the compass.  John picked the compass, vial of sand and the knife.  Richard didn't like that.  Why?

And the other's speak Latin.  And that's important to know because why?????  Desmond trusts Widmore with info that Faraday's mom is in LA.  So she must be the white haired lady we've seen with Ben.  Let's not forget Ben wants to kill Penny for Widmore killing his daughter.   Why in the world would you name your son "Charlie"? Or is it for Charlie on the island?  AND who is JACOB?

Okay, you've got to see this video below.  My husband will die laughing when he sees it.  Because....  "it's just me."

Organic Food

Went to the grocery store today and spent $190.  Wow.  I'm trying to cut as many corner's as I can by using coupons and using the "meat" for two meals instead of just one.  For instance, we had Chicken Caesar Salad last night and BBQ Chicken Pizza tonight  and then next will be roast and then chili the following night with the left overs.

I've been thinking a lot about organic lately.  When I do buy organic produce I notice a big difference in flavor and freshness.  But I still need to get the "standard" items at the grocery store and then go to the "fancy" organic store for the fresh produce.  That means two trips for groceries and for the weeks that I go to Costco then that would be three trips.  So purely out of laziness I don't usually go to the "fancy" organic store.

And I've wanted to stop eating processed food completely.  It's not like I eat a bunch now.  I'm not sure I can do without my Pirate's Booty and Low Fat Wheat Thins.  Is that bad?  I guess it's processed... so it's bad.  So my goal for the next month is to shop MORE at the "fancy" organic store.  And test out "organic" food for the whole family.

Busy...

Boy, Life has been a bit busy lately... I feel like I have a hundred things to do and I'm only able to get a few things done a day.  I need to get caught up.

So, bear with me as I re-organize again.  The first of each month I plan on going over my "goals" and see if there is any progress or...... not.  So that will be coming up shortly.

We went to Disneyland yesterday (spur of the moment thing because it was suppose to rain.. but then it didn't).  So I'll have some photos once I can download them.  We had a great time!

So things I wish I could share.. and things I can't share.  But I'm sure I'll get it back "together" soon.  I definitely need me some Kundalini for balance.  It's been two weeks without it.  Kids been out of school the last two classes.  I've still been doing yoga 3-4 times a week and I think it's the only thing keeping me sane.

Project 365: 11

We have had these marshmallow like clouds for two days now.  And it's still in the 80's out here.

I'm just saying...

$150,000,000 million dollars is a lot of money.

I'm just saying.....

I've been BAD

Well, it all started on Thursday night.  I was craving cookies so I baked the last few chocolate chip cookies and had TWO.  Then on Friday I had a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream at Cold Stone.  On Saturday, I had a Togo's sandwich, vinegar/salt potato chips and ONE more chocolate chip cookie.  But this one was BIG.

I was so good all week and then I screwed it all up in just a few days.  So frustrating.  I'm looking into doing a detox and I'm hoping this will get things rolling.  It's not like I have a lot to lose (7+ lbs) but they won't budge.

Thanks for listening!

Laguna Beach

My husband had the day off work this week and we snuck away during the day (kids at school!) and went on a mini-date.  We had lunch in beautiful Laguna Beach and it was so much fun.  We were married in Laguna Beach overlooking the ocean.  It's my favorite place in the whole world.

Weather has been strange out her in Southern California this last week.  It has been in the 80's.   And I keep reading blogs that mention -5 degrees and ice storms... and I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt in January.  Not complaining.... it's beautiful.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

OMG!  I love chocolate chip cookies and I love brownies... This has to be the best idea ever to combine the two.  I found this at one of my favorite blogs.  Click here for the full details.  Once I lose that seven pounds I'll be making this!  Photo curtesy of Bakerlla also.

I {heart} the OC

Well, some of you that are close to me would know that we were planning on moving to Georgia in a few short months.  Hence, the purpose of this blog.. though it seems to be going in another direction already.

Well, we have done much thought and prayer on the decision and have decided to stay here in beautiful California (your probably saying, "that must have been a no brainer").  So we will not be moving after all.

Well, we will be moving, but not far.  We are selling our home.  It WAS our dream home, it was the home we thought we would live in until our kids moved off to college.  But life changes, priorities changes and economies change (get where I'm going with this).

We decided to sale the house and downsize to a smaller home and focus on "simplicity".  Remember this post?  I can't wait to decorate, settle in to our new community and get back to focusing on what is important (my husband, my children, myself).

I'm excited about the possibilities and changes that our decisions will make.  But there is no doubt in my mind that we have chosen the correct path.  No doubt.

Cupcakes!

I'm having a serious craving right now.  I need a cupcake... I've been trying to eat healthy the past few days and it has caught up with me.  I would KILL for a cupcake.

My favorite cupcakes are from Sprinkles.  I recently had a Vanilla Candy Cane cupcake... and it was yummy.

Have you been in Sprinkles?  Do you love them?  I've met people that don't.  Strange.... very strange.
